This morning we announced the release of Glenn Feldman’s The Great Melding: War, the Dixiecrat Rebellion, and the Southern Model for America’s New Conservatism. The book is the second in the UAB professor’s sweeping examination of the American South’s seismic political realignment in the twentieth century.
Glenn’s first book on the topic was The Irony of the Solid South. When the first book was published, Heath Brown of the “New Books in Political Science” podcast interviewed Glenn in a fascinating 25-minute podcast you can access for free by clicking here.
In this podcast, Glenn talks about his own story and writing career and why the political trajectory of the South is so central to our understanding of contemporary American politics.
